The Parish Council East Down
Welcome to the East Down Parish Council website, providing you with information about the activities of the Council in the village of East Down, North Devon, England.
In Devon, there are currently three tiers of local government. The Parish Council is the tier of government closest to the people. The next tier is the North Devon District Council with the top tier being Devon County Council. This will change over the next few years as the UK Government’s reform of local authorities develops. Both the District Council and the County Council have representatives on the Parish Council
This website aims to provide:
- Information about the composition of the Parish Council members and their roles. The Parish Council can have up to 7 Councillors plus a Clerk to the Council.
- Downloadable information on the meeting agendas and minutes of meeting that are usually held on the 3rd Monday of each month. Members of the public are welcome to attend the meetings.
- Information on the financial accounts of the Parish Council.
- Information on the footpaths that run through East Down.
- An email address through which the Parish Council can be contacted, if matters need to be raised.
